My name is Shemeka.

I'm a former teacher turned television writer on a mission to spark imaginations and empower the next generation of changemakers — especially Black boys.

I’m the author of Dream Fighters A to Z: Extraordinary Black Men In STEM, a vibrant, kid-friendly tribute to real-life heroes who dream big and do bigger. The book is now available for pre-order on my Kickstarter linked here – be sure to grab your copy!

When I’m not writing empowering stories for young readers, I’m crafting worlds for the screen. I’ve worked with media giants like Chernin Entertainment, 9 Story Media, and Tinkercast. My TV writing credits include the PBS series “Work It Out Wombats!” and I'm currently working on Disney Jr.’s hit series “SuperKitties,” produced by Sony Pictures Television – Kids.

I founded Fight4UrDreamz, LLC to create community, celebrate culture, and push for more positive Black male representation in media. Whether it's through books, cartoons, or speaking engagements, I’m here to help kids see themselves as brilliant, bold, and limitless.
